Class Description

The Adult & Pediatric First Aid, CPR/AED class focuses on skills helping adults , children and infants.

The purpose of the course if to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. This will prepare you for caring for a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive to take over.

This class is a Blended Learning Class (Hybrid) which gives students the ability to do the conceptual or knowledge basedtraining online, then attend an in-person skills session to receive hands on practice and live feedback.

Online Portion

The online portion of this class can range from 45 minutes to 2 hours long depending on technology limitations and familiarity with the skills. Participants will receive a link via email after booking a class.  The link takes the participants to the Health Safety Institute. The online portion must be completed before attending the scheduled in-person session.

In-Person Instructor Led Portion

The in-person skills session typically lasts 2.5 to 3 hours. In this portion we review:

• Adult CPR and AED

• Pediatric First Ad, CPR and AED

• All Ages Choking Relief

• First Aid for a victim experiencing life threatening bleeding

• Pediatric Allergic Reaction

Certificates

Participants who successfully complete the online and in-person portions will receive a Health Safety Institute Certification in Adult & Pediatric First Aid, CPR/AED.  Certificates are valid for two years and will be issued in about one business day after the in-person class. Certificates will be delivered digitally via email.
